March has been a month of change for all of us in the house! Mommy had to go back to work! It was kinda bittersweet. I mean I wanted and needed to get out of the house and spend some time with adults, but I hated leaving my baby boy!! March 1st was the big day...
Tanner spent his first full day away from Mommy. 5am sure does come early though! Thank goodness he is starting to sleep through the night! Here's how our mornings usually go:
5:00am.......Tanner gives Mommy a wake up call. Mommy feeds him and he goes back to sleep.
5:30am.......Mommy gets herself ready for the day.
6:30am.......Daddy's alarm goes off and he and Tanner play for a while.
7:00am.......Tanner gets dressed and we are off to Jennifer's house.
7:45am.......Mommy goes to work.
We found a great lady and lots of kids for him to spend the day with. Some friends of ours recommended her and I really like her! Tanner enjoys watching all the kids play during the day. It's something he really wasn't used to...he doesn't get held all day! I think it wore him out at first, but he is adjusting. I think the only one who hasn't adjusted is the dog. She seems to ingest socks...she misses Tanner and Mommy during the day. Its been a week and a half and I think we're going to make it!

Be My Valentine
Love was in the air and we had a busy week! Here's just a quick breakdown of how everything went:
Saturday night, Matt and I had our first night out since December. We met some friends out at Love & War to see Beerman! We had a great time. It was just what the doctor ordered. Needless to say, Sunday was a rough morning! Tanner spent his first night at Nana and Papa's house. Hannah was there also to help out...and help out she did! She read Tanner a night night story before bedtime.
Monday, we had our first Valentine's Day dinner as a family. We went to Villa's, a local Brazialian restaurant. It was yummy, not so much for Tanner. He had his normal bottle of formula, but it did the trick. When we got home we had a special surprise waiting for us. Tanner made Mommy and Daddy a Valentine card.
I think his big cousin may have helped him out a bit! Like all good parents do, it's proudly displayed on the refrigerator door.
Friday morning Matt's mom flew in fron Kansas City to meet Tanner. We had quite a busy weekend. We shopped and ate, and shopped and ate somemore. Tanner got all kinds of new toys that I'm sure he can't wait to play with. It was such a beautiful weekend. We went to the park to enjoy the sunshine and get some much needed vitamin D. Surprisingly enough, Tanner is not too hip on shopping. He soon got cranky during the process, but Mommy is sure to change that!
We also met Tanner's new babysitter, Jennifer. Next week is going to be quite a change for both of us. Mommy has to go back to work and Tanner isn't going to be able to be held all day. You know what they say; "Change is good." We will see.
Oh, and one more thing. It looks like we have now graduated to the 0-3 month clothes. I just have a hard time letting go of all the newborn ones!

Miracle in the Making
Ok, here goes nothing! I've never tried this bogging thing before but these past few days stuck in the house have left me with nothing else to do. I'll start with my little Miracle!
His name is Tanner, I call him my Angel Baby! As many of you are unaware, December 1997 I received a bit of news that would change the rest of my life as I knew it. My doctor informed me that I was unable to have children. Just turning 19, this really didn't bother me much, as I was such a social butterfly and couldn't imagine having someone else to take care of. So....I did my thing. I went to school and had the time of my life, so I thought!
Several years later and many roads traveled, I realized that the old saying, "you always want what you can't have," was so true. I soon began a long and tiring career in retail. Working in retail hardly leaves time for a family, much less a new baby! I met great friends and continued on with my social life. Soon these great friends began families of their own which left me an "aunt" to many new babies.
Now let's skip to February 2009. I met a GREAT guy. I call him Matthew, many call him Hopper. We had alot of fun together, enjoying many nights out with friends. A year went by and we continued our adventures not knowing that our lives would soon change! Little did we know that our lives would go from bars to bottles in an instant.
Monday, May 10, 2010, ironically the day after Mother's Day, changed our lives forever. We found out I was pregnant and we had a miracle in the making. Roughly 9 months later our little monkey man arrived. Tanner Michael Barnett was born Friday, December 31, 2010 at 9:29 am.
So here we sit on this cold day in February. We haven't left the house in 3 days and are going a little crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. This past month has been the best time of my life! I look forward to sharing many memories with all of our friends and family.
